FamilyWall and Cozi have been around for years, and lots of families use them for a shared calendar and lists. They do that well. FAM does that too, and handles a few things differently. Below, honestly where.

What they have in common

A shared calendar, a shopping list everyone updates, and a place to plan what you'll eat. If that's what you're after, all three will do.

Where FAM is different

• Made in the Netherlands, for the way things work here. The calendar pulls in the school feed, for example from Parro, and recipes from an English site come in translated and in grams.
• The kids really join in. A screen of their own, their own pocket money with a savings goal, and per child you set in the May-I matrix what they're allowed. The way back to a parent's screen sits behind a PIN.
• Also what you want to keep. Sayings from the kids, and photos in the Shoebox.
• It's allowed to be fun. A living room with your family and pets in pixels, a robot vacuum that bumps into the couch, and 36 retro games in MEGA GAME TIME.
• Your data. On our own servers in Germany, no ads, and we sell nothing. Privacy.
• Work next to it, not through it. Got your own business? Then B03M W0RK is in the same account, and work and home never get mixed up.
• One family brain, whichever AI you use. Do you each use a different AI tool? Then nobody has to switch. What you share lives in FAM, and through SM1TH your own tool can join in.

Where one of them fits better

• You want an app from the App Store or Play Store. You put B03M on your home screen, and then it works like an app, but it isn't in the stores.
• You want to link your shopping list to a supermarket. FAM doesn't do that: the list is a list.
• You only want a shared calendar and nothing else. Then FAM might be more than you need.
