The Shoebox

Photos in the box

The Shoebox (under Photos) keeps your photos in boxes. Three fill themselves, the rest you make yourself.

• The whole family: photos with everyone on them.
• The kids together: the kids in the picture, without parents.
• The pets: photos with at least one pet.

How it works

1. Uploading: open a box of your own and put photos in it. B03M converts a photo from an iPhone (HEIC) by itself. The original stays untouched.
2. Date and place: B03M reads from the photo itself when and where it was taken. If there's no place in it, that stays empty.
3. Tagging: add who's in the photo, person or pet. Then it lands in the right box by itself.
4. Caption: B03M suggests a sentence, from your description, the place, the date and how old everyone was then. You can overwrite it, and what you type stays.
5. Finding it again: filter by people, your hearts, years and places.
6. Newest first: a box shows the newest 200 photos. more below shows the rest.

The pinboard

The photos lie loose on the screen, and you slide them wherever you want. That layout is yours: everyone in the family has their own. Press Shuffle and they fall again.

From your mail

Teacher mailed the school photos? Forward the mail to your B03MB0X address and send it on from B03MB0X to the Shoebox. The photos land in the box you pick, with the description from the mail. How B03MB0X works.

What it doesn't do (yet)

• Uploading into the three automatic boxes: they fill themselves.
• Videos.
• B03M doesn't recognise faces. You add who's in it yourself.
• Anyone who may not see Photos (the May-I matrix) sees no photo anywhere.
