Chat away

KletsGPT is the family chat. You ask a question, and it answers in the tone that suits you: differently to a kid than to a grown up.

KletsGPT is still in beta: we switch it on per family.

What it can do

• Just chatting, explaining, thinking along.
• The shopping list: reading it and adding to it. "Put milk and eggs on the list."
• The weekly menu: "What are we eating on Thursday?"
• Recipes: searching your own recipes.
• Your notifications and the weather.

Safe for kids

• It knows who's typing, and how old they are, from the birth date. If that's missing, it talks to a kid as carefully as possible.
• Fixed rules that always apply, whatever anyone asks or tries: nothing sexual, no instructions for weapons or drugs, nothing that encourages self harm, no pretending to be a doctor.
• A filter on what comes in, in Dutch and English, that also sees through spaces between letters and leetspeak. Whatever the filter blocked doesn't sneak through to the language model with a next question either.
• A check on what goes out, before the answer reaches the kid.
• A notification to the parents for anything serious, with what was typed.

For parents

Under Settings → Family → KletsGPT you put your own words and topics on the block list, for the whole family or per person, and add extra instructions ("keep it short").

What it doesn't do (yet)

• It doesn't search the internet. It knows your list, menu, recipes, notifications and the weather.
• Making or looking at pictures.
• It's still a chat with an AI. The safety is a safety net, not a babysitter: keep an eye on young kids.
